In addition to sessions in his New York offices, Michael has worked with a great deal of clients via Skype and phone over the 13 years that he's been providing the option of online therapy. Michael's holistic approach is particularly well suited for the distance format and is a lifeline for those who cannot travel to see him.
One of a long list of unique gifts Michael possesses is his specialty in supporting gay men and the greater LGBT community through the specific challenges they face today. To date, about 50% of his client base are from the LGBT community with the other 50% comprised of heterosexual or otherwise identified people.
He has been honored with several awards for his research and fieldwork and is the author of numerous books and articles.
The story of Michael's journey and his discoveries are told in his books:
This small book illustrates how Focalizing transcends talk-therapy, and many other modalities, by shifting our attention to what is presently happening in our bodies, rather than the stories of our lives, with all the whys and what fors. In this somatic (body oriented) approach, we focus on the body in a particular way, allowing it to organically bring forth and gracefully transform whatever is blocking our Source Energy and making us feel stuck.
Focalizing Dynamic Links: A Human Technology for Collectively Engaging Source Energy & Creating a Better Future
Focalizing Dynamic Links is a human technology for connecting and communicating differently, effecting transformation through our institutions and organizations. We are at a point of divergence, with two choices before us – continuing to engage with the world as we have in the past or a new path that leads forward in such a way that we all thrive. Read this small but powerful book to learn how.
This 32 page monograph gives the basics of individual and group focalizing as they were refined in 2007.
This e-book is about the evolution of healing i.e. curing what manifests in one’s body and mind that limits contentment and joy. It is also an archive of the foundations of the Focalizing Institute. The text includes an updated version of the many doorways of exploration that served as healing resources for the many who emailed us on their journey to feeling whole and complete.
This insightful book opens up new vistas for all of us who seek inspiration for implementing our potential; to heal from life’s traumas and to be rewarded with the benefits of fully engaging with our desires and senses in the world around us.
Recovery takes on new meaning with this book. Anyone touched by the dis-ease of addictions or “blocked energy”, will be awakened and transformed by this work.
